We’ve toured many boarding and daycare facilities across North America. We’ve witnessed first hand what works and what doesn’t in order to maintain your pets health in your absence. In order to keep your dog clean and healthy during their stay with us, we’ve invested heavily in two main areas of our facility; the space your dogs play in and the indoor air they breathe. First, we’ve had over 13,000 sq ft of Forever Lawn K9 Grass professionally installed in our play yards to offer your dog a clean and safe environment to run and play to their hearts content. This turf has antimicrobial and superior drainage properties with no infill and has been designed specifically for dogs.

         Second, we discovered that one area that so many facilities ignore is indoor air quality. We realized this many years ago so we researched and installed a Sanuvox Air Filtration system. This system actually sanitizes the air your dog breathes in our facility and has been proven to dramatically reduce airborne pathogens. When you stop in for a tour, be sure to ask about our Sanuvox. We’re very proud to be only the second pet care facility in Canada to invest in such a system.

        When it comes to our exercise program, for those dogs who like to socialize, they have the opportunity to play outside with friends of similar age, size and temperament in one of our several K9 Grass yards. Our family motto is "a tired dog is a happy dog" so our goal is to provide the dogs with not only exercise, but also the stimulation and mental enrichment that they need. All dogs staying at Barkers get play time at least 4 times a day. The groups are carefully chosen and always supervised by our experienced staff. For those dogs who prefer not to socialize, they will have the opportunity to explore their own area without other dogs but a staff member instead.

       

        Inside, your pet will have their own room complete with a raised Kuranda bed and bedding, heated floors in the winter and air conditioning in the summer, lots of natural lighting, and sanitized air courtesy of our Sanuvox UV air filtration system. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our facility.  All rooms are cleaned daily and as needed with the same products used at vet clinics.

Our experienced staff are happy to care for dogs with special needs.  Old joints, blindness, deafness, medications, allergies, injections; we've seen it all.  To ensure the health and safety of all our guests, we require proof of valid, up-to-date vaccinations (including bordetella) from all dogs.
